GFEBS Essentials

An important feature of GFEBS is the creation of a unique, system-generated transaction number, called a Standard Document Reference Number (SDRN). This number is created by the GFEBS system rather than by the budget or resource management office as it was in the legacy environment.

Unlike the legacy process, this unique identifier becomes part of the business transaction and links all subsequent parts of the transaction. The SDRN remains with the transaction through its entire lifecycle.

Research in GFEBS can be performed by displaying a document using the SDRN and "drilling down" into the database to find other related documents.
