GFEBS Reports

Reports can be processed in the foreground or in the background.

For foreground processing, those reports are run in dialog process and hold the user's session until the report is completely processed. Typically reports are submitted for foreground execution either by menu pull-downs or report trees.

When executing reports in the foreground, they have a time limit and may time out. This feature ensures processes are open for other users.

Reports run in the background do not affect the user's current session and are run as time permits. Reports run in the background do not have time limits that can cause a report to time out. Select reports can be run in the background.
