Funds are "pulled" from the Derivation Table using derivation rules set up for Cost Centers, Internal Orders or other sources.
You can manually enter a Fund; however, the preferred method is to derive it automatically.
A Funds Center must be associated with a Cost Center. Normally, the Cost Center will automatically derive the Funds Center; however, it can be entered manually.
A Functional Area can be derived using rules set up for Cost Centers, Internal Orders or other sources.

Funded Programs are derived using Cost Objects (i.e., WBS element, Cost Center, and Internal Orders) that users enter into posting documents (e.g., Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders).
A Funded Program cannot be manually keyed into a posting document.
A Commitment Item is assigned to a USSGL account and is derived based on the use of the account in a transaction.
FM derivations reference the accounting information populated in the WBS element to derive the correct account assignment. The FM budget address must be entered in a WBS element that is flagged as an account assignment element.
Cost Objects are used to analyze target costs, actual costs, and variances in situations where costs are not collected at the level of orders or materials. GFEBS uses the following Cost Objects:
Cost Centers
WBS elements
Internal Orders
Cost objects derive the GFEBS budget address (referred to as the Line of Accounting (LOA) in legacy systems).
