Project Systems, MFES, and WBS numbers
In Project Systems, a Project specific to each installation was created with separate WBS elements for each category of building at that site. This project is called the Maintenance Funding Execution Structure (MFES) project.
In Plant Maintenance, there is a building record (functional location) for each building / structure at each installation. Based on the category of building you are working on, the functional location WBS field is populated with the MFES WBS element corresponding to the specific category of the building.
When the location of work (functional location) is populated on a work order, the WBS number associated to the functional location master record will (for DMOs and PMOs) automatically populate the WBS field on the work order.
For cost collection purposes, it is important the WBS is correct.
