Scheduling & Monitoring

 

Preventive Maintenance work is accomplished through the scheduling and monitoring of equipment or functional location maintenance plans. This process allows the preventive maintenance plans to be refined and updated continually per the maintenance activity's capabilities.

Reduces Frequency of DMOs

 

Proper management of preventive maintenance  activities can lead to a reduction in the frequency of DMOs.

Performed Routinely

 

Preventive Maintenance is routine, recurring work performed on Real Property facilities.

Funded By WBS

 

For Preventive Maintenance funding, the WBS that represents the functional location will be referenced on the equipment master record or functional location master record. The business office will assign the correct WBS to the functional location or equipment master to support the correct line of accounting referenced for Preventive Maintenance.

Executed by a PMO

 

Preventive Maintenance is executed by a PMO (Preventive Maintenance Order).

Systematic Inspection & Care

 

Preventive maintenance is the systematic inspection, care, and servicing of equipment, utility plants and systems, buildings, structures, and grounds facilities to detect and correct early failures and to perform minor maintenance.
