GFEBS Spending Chain

Funds Commitment Documents are also used to manually enter obligations in several Scenarios.

Click on the buttons below to learn more about each document.

Non-DTS Travel encompasses all travel not administered by DTS.

Examples of non-DTS travel include the following:

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) - civilian and military

Invitational travel

Temporary Duty (TDY) where DTS has not been implemented

Student travel

Renewal Agreement Travel (RAT)

Once orders have been cut, the purchase Order Processor enters a funds commitment document to record the obligation.

PowerTrack (Transportation) Obligations

Transportation relates to the shipment of goods as managed by PowerTrack, a U.S. Bank system. In GFEBS, a bulk obligation is created for PowerTrack payments with a funds commitment document.

Stock and Supply Items

MILSTRIP purchase interfaced from logistics systems will be recorded using a funds commitment document via the FMZ1 transaction.

Funds Control Module captures supply requisitions initiated by users in SARSS and sends the resulting obligation data to GFEBS via an interface.

IRM also passes obligation data to GFEBS via the FCM interface.

TEWLS, a theatre medical logistics system, sends obligation data directly to GFEBS via an interface.

Miscellaneous Payment Obligations Not Subject to PPA

In GFEBS, a funds commitment document is created to record miscellaneous payment obligations that are not subject to PPA. Examples may include: legal fees and awards, official phone calls, medical services by a non- Federal source, damages to General Services Administration (GSA) vehicles, municipal services, demurrage charges (i.e., charges for detaining a ship, freight car, or truck).
