ITAR – Conduct a Personnel Asset Inventory (PAI)

Conditions: As an HR NCO you are required to conduct a Personnel Asset Inventory (PAI) at least once annually, at a change of command, 14 calendar days prior to a unit move, inactivation, discontinuance or redesignation, at the direction of the chain of command or when the unit strength variance is greater than 2% between the electronic Military Personnel Office (eMILPO) database and the Total Army Personnel Database (TAPDB). You have access to an AAA-162 (Unit Personnel Accountability Report), AAA-165 (Unit Personnel Accountability Notice), DA Form 3986 (Personnel Asset Inventory), AR 600-8-6 (Personnel Accounting and Strength Reporting), documentation for Soldiers who are not physically present at formation, and eMILPO. This task should not be trained in MOPP 4.

Standards: Complete the PAI and forward to Brigade S-1 or Military Personnel Division (MPD) within five working days with 100% accountability of all unit personnel.
